Atlanta Area Set To Run Out Of Water In 3 Months - Gee, I Wonder Why?

Because of my back operation, I was forced to cancel my trip to the South - which included a trip to Atlanta to take in the NASCAR Nextel Cup race that was run on Sunday the 28th.

So it's interesting that I'm coming across a lot of articles about the severe drought facing the Atlanta area.

As two posts by Limits To Growth and their sources show, it is not jobs or culture that we should be worried about losing when thinking of the illegal alien invasion.

It will be much, much more basic than that.

"As mentioned here earlier, northern Georgia will run out of water in three months if the rains don't come. The state has doubled in population in just forty years, but MSM does not discuss such sensitive topics. Americans are supposed to suffer quietly as the most basic components of their quality of life are sacrificed so millions of foreigners can move here"

Georgia's population has doubled - from 4 million to over 8 million - in just 40 years. And somehow, the mainstream media just can't (or won't) put 2 and 2 together to figure out the rather obvious truth that if you allow a places population to explode beyond the land's ability to care for them you are going to be Fucked with a capitol 'F'!

As bad as the situation in Georgia is right now, it will be nothing compared to what California is facing; according to the Cal Dept. of Finance, California can count on 60 million people by 2050 - an almost 75% increase in 43 years! It is important for us to look at what is happening on the small(er) scale now, because it will be very telling for out future. And it doesn't look good.

Given our water shortages that are guaranteed to come to virtually every state in the union, you have to wonder about politicians, businesspeople, and ethnic groups who actually believe that bringing in over a hundred million more poor, uneducated immigrants is a good thing for America. Why would an allegedly sane person argue such?

When you look at the death of civilizations - particularly the great ones - you see that it is a sudden shock involving resources that is oftentimes the culprit. The great ancient civilizations almost inevitably vanish due to a protracted drought, a string of brutally cold or hot years, or something like deforestation or crop failure.

And we're looking for people on airplanes fiddling with their shoes!

Made It Back Alive!

Hey Everyone!

I made it back in one piece.

Just thought i'd drop everyone a line to tell you that the surgery is over... and I'm on the road to recovery!

On Friday, October 19th, my Dad took me to the hospital to get my surgery done (a transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion - or TLIF - for those keeping score). The surgery took several hours but went pretty well. The waking-up was pretty traumatic, but the recovery went pretty well, the food was terrible...and I don't think I would have made it without the TV (that had only 10 channels - but luckily Turner Classic Movies was on 24 hours a day - I think I developed a "thing" for Norma Shearer!).

I was in until this Tuesday, and last night was my first night in my rented hospital bed. I slept for 12 hours.

I am doing pretty well, walking as much as I can. I'm supposed to stay home for the first week, but I feel like taking my walker outside and running around! But then, it's not a 'runner' - it's a 'walker' I am still very sore in the spot where they did the operation. It feel like my spine is being held together with a piece of twine (instead of what it's REALLY held together with, which is some pins and screws!). I am going to be good and stay home and walk up and down the hallway till I scream.


But the big question is... did it work??? I have to say that - at the moment - the answer seems to be yes! The crippling sciatic nerve pain is gone! GONE! I sat in a chair for the 45 minute ride home from the hospital, and, as anyone of you who dealt with taking me to one of my appointments knows, just the thought of spending 3 minutes seated in a chair would have driven me to tears. I do have a significant amount of numbness is in my right foot and leg - but it has gradually diminished from the date of the surgery - and I'll take numbness over searing pain any day! It should - hopefully - continue to diminish. I'm already taking about half the pain medication I was taking before the surgery - and that's with the incision pain!


I have to thank my Dad and brother Dan for all of their help, to Judy and Stacey for taking care of me in the weeks leading up to the surgery, and to Swirly as always for putting up with me and helping out. and thanks to all of you. I really feel like I've turned a corner on a very rough couple of years, and I appreciate all the support and good wishes you all have given me. I feel like I am getting my life back.

Wish Me Luck!

There's been so much going on lately that I've wanted to write about... the dramatic increase of "Hispandering" in the televised sports world, the Federal Judiciary stamping out all independent efforts to address the illegal immigrant invasion, Cal's historically predictable collapse against OSU, Ted Koppel opening up a can of whiny worms with his 'prison overcrowding' special... not to mention an election coming up (still hoping an 'immaculate candidate' will rise up and save us from four more years of Kamala Harris!). But other things are taking precedence over writing right now.

As you may have guessed from hints in earlier posts, I am having some pretty major surgery done on my back this week. And no... yoga and stretching ain't gonna help! I'll be in the hospital for several days afterward, and then be pretty tenuous for an indeterminate amount of time. So this is my last post for a while.... maybe a long while.

SPORTS! Savor This Post... Because It's The Last Time I Praise Stanford!

Stanford - that's right, Stanford - has defeated #1 ranked USC in an upset even bigger than the Appalachian State v Michigan game! The trees won 24-23, and, even though I'm a Cal fan, they deserved it.

The Condoms looked really used last week, just barely beating Washington in a game that the BCS darlings deserved to lose. It was crystal clear that USC was going to lose at least once before the Cal match-up... but to Stanford????

And Florida is beating LSU, so could that mean that, by the end of the day....

California is the #1 ranked team in the nation???

No. Unfortunately, there is just too much anti-PAC-10 bias in the ranking systems. Cal will have to do something really special to get the #1 ranking. Even if (when, I mean) they beat OSU next week, my guess is that they will still be ranked under a 1-loss team. Bastards!

What does the 'C' stand for? We already know what the 'B' and the 'S' stand for!

It Was 40 Years Ago Today...

On this day in 1967, the Diggers held an event called "The Death Of Hippie" - a funeral procession down Haight Street - meant to announce the death of the "media creation" of the hippie culture.

The Diggers - a group of "community anarchists" associated with the SF Mime Troupe - were known for giving out free food (either donated or stolen), opening 'free' stores in the Haight/Ashbury, and generally attempting to create a mini-society free of capitalism. Actor Peter Coyote is probably the most well known member.

What's clear is that the fun didn't last very much longer after October '67. The movement that spawned "peace and love" started becoming decidedly less peaceful, the drug culture began to eat itself, and the general culture became increasingly desperate, ultimately glomming onto groups like the Black Panthers and the Weathermen Underground.

These folks just couldn't believe what was happening, or, at least, couldn't believe that this was happening to them. Them of all people!

Here's my take on it... just because they dropped out and decided not to embrace the capitalist life does not mean that the hippies didn't give up their sense of privilege. The political movements of the 60's were driven more or less by sheer arrogance.

Leftists of today whine - constantly - where are the big 60's style protests against the Iraq War? The war is certainly unpopular, without a doubt, but why aren't people in the streets?

I think part of the answer is that we've all seen what happens when you do that - unlike the 60's protesters who were in uncharted territory. And we've decided that it just isn't worth it. The hippies, in many cases, sacrificed their families, their health, and their sanity. And for what?

The Iraq War has been a little easier for some people to stand on the sidelines for because of the rather obvious little problem of 9-11. President Bush has been able to convince some people - enough people - that this has something to do with the War on Terror. The Vietnamese government did not smash planes into the World Trade Center. Now, I don't personally believe it; I think it's pretty clear that invading Iraq was always 'Plan A' with this administration even before 9-11, and that the link between Iraq and Al Qaeda was a big stretch (or, at least, was... before the civil war broke out).

Afghanistan, however, is a completely different story. I had NO PROBLEM bombing Afghanistan back to the stone age (not a very big leap, but still). The Taliban is a scourge on humanity and deserves to be exterminated. And that's a problem for the modern leftist... a blanket condemnation of war simply will not fly in the United States in 2007... not while they're still digging body parts out of Ground Zero.

I know many people who have problems with the Iraq War. I know nobody who has a problem with the destruction of the Taliban. NOBODY! If anything, the only thing that angers people about Afghanistan is that we left too quickly... that we gave up on finding and killing Osama Bin Goatfucker... and, instead, went to Iraq so George Bush could assuage his pathological obsession with Saddam Hussein.

SPORTS! (because it's all I've got the energy for)

Y'know... there aren't many bright sides to being disabled, in crippling pain, and needing spine surgery... and don't let anyone tell you otherwise... but it did allow me to kick back in bed all day and watch one of the best college football weekends in years!

"Upset Saturday" won't soon be forgotten...

#3 Oklahoma lost to unranked Colorado
#4 Florida lost at home to unranked Auburn
#5 West Virginia lost to #18 Southern Florida
#7 Texas lost at home to unranked Kansas State (by 20! Sweeeet!)
#10 Rutgers lost to unranked Maryland
#11 Oregon lost to #6 Cal
#13 Clemson lost to unranked Georgia Tech
#21 Penn State lost to unranked Illinois
#22 Alabama lost to unranked Florida State

The biggest game was #6 California going to #11 Oregon. Started slow, but turned out to be an awesome game and a really big win for Cal. Oregon, driving to the goal with only seconds left, was hit right before the line and fumbled the ball through the endzone for a touchback. D'oh!!! Reminds me of 3 years ago when Cal won a huge game at Memorial Stadium on a dropped Oregon pass with seconds to go. I have to give it to the Oregon fans... they were up before sunrise to scream at the crew from ESPN's College Football Live. Like one of the signs said - "East Coast Bias Is A Crime!"

The other game I watched all the way through was #1 USC at Washington. I was kind of worried about Cal meeting Washington later in the year, but, after watching this, it should be no problem. USC did everything they could to hand the game to the Huskies - 3 turnovers, a blocked punt, a missed field goal, and over 160 yards in penalties. In the end, this game didn't show why USC is #1, but instead showed beautifully why Washington still has a long, long way to go. Washington will be a force to be reckoned with in a few years. But not now.

USC should not be #1. LSU should get the top spot, with USC second. Cal should be #3. Y'all have no idea how strange that is to a Cal fan from way way back! And, despite the loss, Oregon goes up - maybe as high as #7.

In the Women's World Cup (held in that new bastion of capitalism: Communist China) spurned goalkeeper Hope Solo has every right to be pissed... and I don't blame her one bit for leaving the team and not playing in the consolation match. She's just the latest unfortunate victim of Team USA's consistently inept coaching. The men's team crashed out of the World Cup in 2006 mostly due to Bruce Arena's timid, bizarre coaching, so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that the same thing happened with the women's team.

If you're not working tomorrow, the last day of the baseball season should be awesome. I'm rooting for San Diego and Philly.

But, as fun as this day was, and tomorrow will be... I'd trade it all in for being able to walk again, or sit up in a chair, or eat while not lying down. Just 3 more weeks...

STOP PRESSES! BONDS FINALLY LEAVING!

SportsCenter has just reported that the San Francisco Giants will not sign Barry Bonds next year!

Yesssss! Finally!

This season, I pledged that I would not attend another Giants game until Bonds left the team. It's not that I don't like Bonds. Okay, it's true... I don't like Bonds, but it's only a part of the reason. The real reason is that the Giants have not even been a team for the last 5 years. They have been "Barry and Co." - a group of aged, lumbering veterans, whose main job was to bat around enough to get Bonds up to the plate as much as possible. The Giants were about one thing and one thing only: Barry Bonds. I doubt that there has been a team in major league history that was so totally built around one player. And, if you didn't happen to like that player, well, you just didn't count as a fan.

There were some team people who felt they should have got rid of him last year; they argued that the Giants had to get started on rebuilding the team. But those were people who thought, wrongly, that baseball is about winning. As we all know, baseball is about putting butts in seats, and, from that standpoint, signing Bonds was the right thing to do.

Without Bonds, it is expected that attendance will be down. And that's a good thing. I have seen crowds of 10,000 at Candlestick make more noise than 40,000 at AT&T. The atmosphere at AT&T is really lame, more people talking on cell phones than watching the game. The fans have become very accustomed to losing, but it's not just that. The result has simply become irrelevant. The only thing that matters is Barry. Barry, Barry, Barry.

But now, that will change. The team will have to be rebuilt, with youngsters who will strike out, drop fly balls, and cause all kinds of headaches. But at least it won't be mind-numbingly boring - like it is now.

The Giants decision to drop Bonds next year - and bring him back this year - proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that baseball is a business. And they haven't been getting my business for years, but now I'll probably go to a few games. You can only build a team around one player for so long. And it's been way too long.

Where will Barry go? My guess is - nowhere. I predict he retires. I just can't imagine any team paying him what he wants to be a DH.

Pass The Taser, Bro!

I haven't been able to keep up with the news lately... and I think that's a good thing.

I have a ruptured disc in my back, and am looking at fusion surgery soon. Hopefully. You never know with an HMO. Tonight I had an MRI and they moved the machine to a different building since the last time, so I spent a half hour laying in the back seat of my roommate's car in agony trying to figure out which building to go to, while somebody from radiology tried to give me directions. Neither one of us had a clue. So we rescheduled and I dragged myself into bed. About an hour later, the pain caught up with me, and I almost threw up from the agony.

But now, looking back on things several pills later, I think it's the news that's making me want to throw up.

First of all, there's O.J. Sadly, there may always be an O.J.

As you all know, the alleged alleged double-murderer is now in a jail cell in Vegas, charged with whatever he's charged with. Unfortunately, I think he's gonna walk. Again. A lot of news pundits have been saying that this looks like a set-up. What? Of course they were all black! But it does seem rather conveeeenient that the guy had a tape recorder. But maybe this was a "setup" in the same way "to catch a predator" is a setup - as in "a great way to get a sick criminal off the street." Maybe the guy was hired by the Goldman's to flush out O.J.'s mountain of wealth. Heard they already got his Rolex! HAHAHAH!

Then there's that wuss at that John Kerry thing. Now that was a set-up! This was a totally fucking staged; the agitator had a facebook page up within minutes after the event. I'm amazed that people actually are debating this and managing to keep a straight face. The question is - did the cops go too far? Well, first of all, nothing made me laugh harder this week than hearing that tool scream "Don't tase me, bro!" BRO?!? Who the fuck says bro? That in and of itself is a tase-able offense!

The cops were totally stupid. Even I know that you take the windbag out of the auditorium before tasing him! But it pisses me off that the media are making this guy out to be someone whose opinion is worth anything. The guy was obviously an agitator, he was out to at least disrupt the speech - if not get arrested on purpose. As soon as the cops had him down, they were immediately surrounded by people with videocameras! Look, he swung at the officers. He was taken down for it. Stupid little queen!

Put him in the cell with O.J... we all know how much he likes the white bitches...

And then we have possibly the ultimate frivilous lawsuit! Nebraska State Senator Ernie Chambers is suing God - saying that "God has made terroristic threats against the senator and his constituents, inspired fear and caused 'widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants'."

Chambers has pulled shit like this before... he has been called "the angriest black man in Nebraska" and is known for his loooong tenure in the state senate and his mad filibustering skillz. He is the only black lawmaker in Omaha.

Chambers is a racist bigot - by his own admission - and seems to take great satisfaction in angering white people. Read this interview with Mother Jones to see the depth of his hatred for whites. He basically calls Martin Luther King, Jr. an "Uncle Tom!" I will give him this... at least he is honest about his racist, bigoted ways. So was Hitler. I hope God counter-sues!

Communist Scum At SF State Disrupt 9/11 Memorial

San Francisco State (my alma mater) has more than it's share of disturbed junior cultists.

The communist jack-offs in this video are relatively tame compared to some of the other ones I used to see at State. These guys are all just a step or two away from that sick bastard in Blacksburg.

There are jihadists at State, and pretty much every other large, public institution. There are many pro-Palestine groups as well, some of whom preach jihad openly. Hating Israel is practically an admissions requirement!

The schools do not have the resources (or, in leftist SF, the will) to research and monitor closely individuals or groups that have ties to known terrorists.

Hi folks!!

Sorry I haven't been posting too much lately. I won't go into details, but I'm facing some pretty serious surgery soon, and I just haven't had it in me to do a lot of writing. But I appreciate all of you dropping by and I'll keep you posted on my progress. I love doing this blog and am grateful for people such as yourselves for dropping by!

Where Is The Fucking ACLU Now???

While the ACLU has vigorously attacked ordinances in communities like Hazleton, Pennsylvania, that have attempted to protect themselves against illegal immigration, arguing that they violate the federal government’s exclusive control over immigration policy, the ACLU apparently has no problem with local governments that interfere in immigration policy that favors illegal aliens.

In July, when the city of New Haven, Connecticut, became the first in the nation to decide to issue ID documents to illegal aliens with the express purpose of making it easy for illegal aliens to live and access public services in the city, none of the ACLU’s typical concerns about local interference in a federal matter were raised. The city-issued cards are intended to allow illegal aliens to open bank accounts, use city services, and identify themselves to local police with assurance that they will not be reported to federal immigration authorities.

Not only does the ACLU not see New Haven’s actions as an infringement on federal authority, but neither seemingly does the U.S. Department of Justice, which has remained silent on the matter. Nor does Connecticut’s attorney general apparently believe that New Haven is violating any state laws as he has also declined to take action against the city’s overt abetting of illegal aliens.

Now that San Francisco appears to be taking the first steps towards granting its own amnesty, where is the ACLU?

First off, I don't believe that San Franciscans are really doing this for the sake of the illegal aliens in our city. It is being done to appease the malignant narcissism that rules this town. It is being done so bleeding heart socialists can look in the mirror and bask in sticking it to the red-state conservatives - which is the driving force behind virtually all politics in San Francisco. Results here are not important; what is important is that we look good to ourselves while doing it.

Yes, it is very sick. But that is the way we are.

I'm not a lawyer (so don't shoot!) but I fail to see how Hazelton, PA's efforts are illegal while New Haven's are not. And the fact that the ACLU is silent on the issue of IDs shows perfectly what they are all about, and what they stand for.

San Francisco To Become Bitch Of Illegals

There was no way we were going to be out-liberaled by bloody New Haven!

San Francisco's favorite 98-pound weakling, Supervisor Tom Ammiano, is threatening to introduce legislation that would create a City card - a la bloody New Haven - that would basically institute a municipal amnesty.

San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano is drafting legislation to create a city identification card for immigrants unable to get traditional ID cards, a move likely to anger advocates of tougher immigration enforcement.

The cards would be accepted by all city agencies and organizations that receive city funding. Ammiano plans to introduce the legislation within a couple of weeks. He also is trying to persuade financial institutions to allow residents to use the cards to open accounts

It should probably not be surprising that this is happening. It was only a matter of time before the batshit Board pulled something like this. I would have thought it would be Sandoval or Daly (or Newsom), but Ammiano still has a shred of credibility in this city - although pretty much only in the city's large gay establishment.

Still, as you can imagine, I am not amused.

Newsom has said that every San Franciscan should get one - regardless of (lack of) immigration status. That I can get behind... it's about bloody time that San Francisco's taxpaying citizen's get some of the perks the illegals do... like free emergency room visits and the ability to set up free bank accounts with no proper ID.

And those who don't think that terrorists and other crooks won't take advantage of this are in denial about the fact that this card's intended design is to AID AND ABET CRIMINALS! Why should we care which criminals are getting it?

TAKE ACTION - HELP FIX THE 14TH AMENDMENT

One of the main problems in regards to the illegal invasion - maybe THE main problem - is that illegals have used a loophole in the 14th Amendment to the Constitution to justify an invasion of American soil.

The 14th Amendment - a provision enacted right after the Civil War in order to make children of slaves American citizens - has been hijacked by illegal invaders, and has been (wrongly) interpreted to mean that "any foreigner sneaky enough to get into the country can plop out a baby (or 6) - and immediately become the parent of an American Citizen - thereby making it very difficult to remove them." The illegals know this; why else would so many pregnant women make the dangerous trip across the border?

There have been efforts made over the years to clarify the Amendment to erase the ambiguity, and the latest such effort is H.R. 1940, and here it is, in its entirety...

A BILL

To amend section 301 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to clarify those classes of individuals born in the United States who are nationals and citizens of the United States at birth.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Birthright Citizenship Act of 2007'.

SEC. 2. CITIZENSHIP AT BIRTH FOR CERTAIN PERSONS BORN IN THE UNITED STATES.

(a) In General- Section 301 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1401) is amended--

(1) by inserting `(a) IN GENERAL- ' before `The following';

(2) by redesignating paragraphs (a) through (h) as paragraphs (1) through (8); and

(3) by adding at the end the following:

`(b) Definition- Acknowledging the right of birthright citizenship established by section 1 of the 14th amendment to the Constitution, a person born in the United States shall be considered `subject to the jurisdiction' of the United States for purposes of subsection (a)(1) if the person is born in the United States of parents, one of whom is--

`(1) a citizen or national of the United States;

`(2) an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States whose residence is in the United States; or

`(3) an alien performing active service in the armed forces (as defined in section 101 of title 10, United States Code).'.

(b) Applicability- The amendment made by subsection (a)(3) shall not be construed to affect the citizenship or nationality status of any person born before the date of the enactment of this Act.

Simple, no?

Unfortunately, many past efforts have never got off the ground. And you can look around you and see the results.

So here's what you can do...

1) Sign the petition in support of H.R. 1940

2) Write your representatives and ask them to support this and all other measures to clarify the 14th Amendment and bring an end to the "anchor baby" problem. It has done too much damage already.

Travel Industry Works To Undermine American Security

As many of you know by reading my profile, I work in the travel industry. As this recent post on Limits To Growth explains, the travel industry has been a leading - and somewhat behind-the-scenes - player in making sure America's security is always subservient to making a buck.




Many of the Visa Waiver countries are in Europe, now home to tens of millions of Muslims, a considerable proportion of whom are hostile to Western values. Retired Immigration Officer Michael Cutler underlines the connection between the tourist industry and the Visa Waiver program, which allows citizens of 27 countries to enter America without the important screening that a visa application requires.

SPORTS! on San Fransanity

It's Sunday, which means that I'm loose in, loose off, and tight in the center!

AAAARRRGGGHH! Brent Musburger twice in one weekend!!! The Brent-ster was apparently so bent out of shape from the "hippies in trees" incident at the Cal v Tennessee game that he had to get some redneck therapy at the California Cup Race (I'm talking about NASCAR if you haven't figured it out yet).

It was actually a good race - considering that California is traditionally a snooze-fest and the commentary sure didn't help any (supplied by the scintillating Rusty Wallace and the "still trying... honestly" Dale Jarrett). The bleachers were actually full, unlike the spring race, which showed huge swaths of empty standage.

Mikey Waltrip showed he still knows how to explode. Jeffy-poo caused a wreck. JJ won. Like you care.

The consensus seems to be that Junebug (that's Dale Earnhardt Jr. - do I have to start from the beginning???) is toast... but I'm still hoping! Not cuz I care about Junior at all, but if the cards fall right he could knock Kevin "Ratface" Harvick out of the Chase for the Cup!

That would be AWESOME!

Get Your Facts Straight

Just spent some quality time digging into the website for FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform). This is an excellent resource and a good place to get a grasp on the full magnitude of the illegal (and legal) immigrant invasion.

This page gives you the link to find out - in detail - how immigration affects your state. The California page is particularly scary.

Both FAIR and NumbersUSA have free faxing stations where you can write a letter to your representatives to praise them for their stance - or tell them where to stick it - tastefully, of course. Go there now and bookmark 'em; you'll need 'em soon.

One page I love to read is the page of anti-illegal invasion quotes by famous people. Anti-border Marxists always love to take "founding father" quotes out of context to make it look like the people who founded this country are actually in favor of it completely being overrun by foreign invaders! It's now a well established propaganda tactic. Give 'em a taste of their own medicine with choice quotes like this one... which I love to lob at so-called "environmentalists"...

Yesssss! Sweet revenge for Cal on this day as the Bears beat Tennessee in what turned out to be an awesome game. Cal set the pace for most of the game, but the momentum shifted in the second half, with Tennessee starting to close in. After a long injury time out due to a Tennessee player almost breaking his neck, the Vols got the ball back on the goal line and looked to have a shot at maybe possibly mounting a comeback. That lasted for three plays. And it was all over. Final score - 45-31.

Deshawn Jackson made one of the greatest punt return touchdowns you will ever see. It will be all over SportsCenter tonight and for many months to come. Don't miss it!

ABC Announcer Brent Musburger couldn't resist making fun of the hippies squatting in the oak trees. He actually sounded angry about it on a few occasions. Cranky old man. You're in Berkeley, square... get used to it!

All in all, though, it wasn't a bad job by ABC. They have an SEC bias - as does SportsCenter, the BCS, and everyone else in college football - but they didn't let it get in the way too often. And, to be fair, Tennessee did make a very good showing. The bastards.

One Year Since "SUV Jihad" in SF - And Still No Trial

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the "SUV Jihad," when Omeed Aziz Popal, an immigrant fresh back in the USA from Afghanistan - where he was attending his arranged marriage - all of a sudden, for NO REASON, went on a hit-and-run rampage that killed one man and injured 18 others.

At one point in May, attorneys appeared to be ready to move forward with the preliminary examination, the hearing in which a judge determines if there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.

But when the case was assigned to a different courtroom, Deputy District Attorney James Thompson said that he was not ready to proceed because he was waiting on evidence and police reports from Alameda County District Attorney's Office as well as the Fremont Police Department.

Leave it to the SF D.A.s office to drag their feet on a high profile case involving an immigrant. I don't know why their trying to amass so much information, when they'll probably try to argue for a lenient sentence, as usual.

If they don't get their butts in gear, we may see what happened with that judge dismissed a child molestation case against another immigrant because his right to a speedy trial was violated.

And, believe it or not, Kamala Harris is running unopposed for District Attorney! Great... four more years of this bullshit!

After splintering over a year ago, two Los Angeles immigrant coalitions joined forces Tuesday while calling for a Sept. 12 consumer boycott in favor of immigration reform.

The groups said they united after the Aug. 19 arrest and deportation of Elvira Arellano, who lived in a Chicago church for a year to avoid deportation.

..."It took the sacrifice of that brave woman (Arellano) to break our myopic visions," said Javier Rodriguez of the March 25th Coalition, which is named after a demonstration last year in which 500,000 people rallied in downtown Los Angeles. "This is a new chapter for all of us."

Reeeeeetch!!! "Brave Woman!" That's funny. Shrewd, calculating, cold-as-ice woman is more like it. Read the previous post about this bitch to see what these people really stand for.

"The only time people in our community are not asked for (immigration-related) identification is when they spend money," said Angelica Salas, executive director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles. "It's time for America to realize their buying power and contribution to this country."

Different from the May 1 boycotts, which called on workers and students to stay home, this boycott only calls on immigrants and supporters not to spend money.

Your P.I.S.S. report for August 30th

Now that mother-of-the-year Elvira Arellano has been deported back to Mexico, the pro-illegal sob stories have been filling the über-PC San Francisco Chronicle.

First up is a wonderful little sob-story by the 'Horatio Alger' of illegal immigrants - the Chron's own Tyche Hendricks. In an article called "Illegal immigrants choice: work underground or leave," Hendricks documents the heartbreaking story of "Jorge S." - a grocery clerk in an East Bay city.

Jorge S., an East Bay grocery store clerk, worries about his family's future if the Bush administration follows through with its declaration this month to crack down on employers who fail to verify the legal status of their workers.


"Everyone at the store is worried about it. We're all in the same boat," said Jorge, 53, who invented a Social Security number to get hired eight years ago and would not give his last name for fear of losing his job. "I'd be in a very difficult situation if I lose my job."

Oh, boo hooo! Another character Tyche introduces to us is Sylvia Esperanza...

Peninsula resident Silvia Esparza, 44, said she already finds life as an undocumented immigrant pretty tough. She lives with a perpetual fear of being deported, has no driver's license and no possibility of establishing credit. Though she has lived in the Bay Area for 17 years and works for a mail-order cleaning products company, she said she would give it up and return to Mexico if she lost her job over a no-match letter.

"I would go back to my country, but that's because I don't have the problem of having my children here," said Esparza, who sent her four kids to live with her parents in Baja California several years ago to protect them from the influence of American gangs. "I'm a hard worker, so I know I could survive. But I don't know if my kids would be able to continue their education. I've put the two oldest through university."

Hmmmm... let's see.... she's lived in America for 17 years, and - though the article doesn't say it explicitly - is working with fraudulent papers. Why else would she be worried about a no-match letter? And isn't it a little bit telling that, after 17 years, she still refers to Mexico as "my country?" Why am I not feeling any sympathy???

And now, let's bring in the "experts"....

The hotly debated question in Washington is which to tackle first. The Bush administration heightened its focus on enforcement after Congress failed this summer, for the second consecutive year, to reach an agreement on reworking the nation's immigration laws.

But Westlye and others say the administration is putting the cart before the horse. Mark Silverman, a staff attorney at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center in San Francisco, believes the government must first legalize unauthorized immigrants and create a way for future foreign workers to come lawfully.

"Then you can say we're going to ... enforce the laws against hiring undocumented workers really strictly," he said.

This is the laughable argument we hear time and time again from the pro-illegal advocates... just make everyone on earth legal - and then go after the illegals.

Fucking amazing.


P.S. - the article generated over 200 comments, almost all of which were saying what I've been saying for years... that the Chronicle is completely one-sided in its coverage of immigration, and needs to honestly discuss the problems of illegal immigration, and not just say "illegal aliens can do no wrong."

The Examiner is reporting that Barry Bonds, the San Francisco Giants' slugger and number one distraction from their abject failure as a team, may not have as many endorsement opportunities after he finishes his career as some other star athletes. In fact, they're pretty much saying he'll be about as popular as O.J...

But back to what's-his-name... all of the points made in the article are valid - the tax evasion, the rumors, the (snicker) alleged steroid use and a combative relationship with the press - but why stop there? How about his supreme selfishness? His titanic ego? The fact that the Giants will not be competitive for years to come because the team has been built around him? Okay, so that last one is actually the fault of the Giants' (snicker) management, but still...

How did Bonds and his handlers respond to the suggestion that Bonds' personality might hurt his chances for endorsements?

"Bonds' marketing manager, Jeff Bernstein, did not return repeated calls and e-mails. Requests for interviews from Bonds' public relations staff were not answered."

Confessions Of An Ex-Burner

Burning Man is upon us once again. You can always tell when it's coming, and, since I work in a store that sells camping equipment, we're swamped with folks stocking up on goggles, sleeping bags, and "Freshettes," which are little funnel-like devices that allow women to pee standing up.

I used to go every year; from 1993 - 2000, I was there dressing in drag, riding around on glowstick covered beat up bike doing tons of ecstasy, acid, shrooms, you-name-it, and checking out the cool sculptures, broadcasting our own radio station, and soaking in the smelly hot springs.

But no more. It's gotten too big and too expensive. When I went in 1993 there were maybe 3,000 people. Today it's around 35,000. I believe everybody should go once, because it is a truly unique experience, even without tons of drugs.

I don't usually read Violet Blue's column in SFGate - or any other sex advice columns; I know how to have sex and have references to prove it thank you very much. But her column on Burning Man had snippets of a hilarious email for those of us who don't make it anymore. It's called How to Have Burning Man at Home, which I found in its entirety here. Cut, burn, electrocute, bruise, and sunburn various parts of your body. Forget how you did it. Don't go to a doctor.

Buy a new pair of favorite shoes. Throw one shoe away.

Set up a DJ system downwind of a three alarm fire. Play a short loop of drum'n'bass until the embers are cold.

Mail $200 to the Reno casino of your choice.

Go to a museum. Find one of Salvador Dali's more disturbing but beautiful paintings. Climb inside it.

Arellano Gone... But The Stench Lingers On...

Elvira Arellano has been deported. While at first I thought she really should have been jailed, I think it was smart of ICE to merely deport her. It's clear that this is no ordinary mother; Arellano is a seasoned activist, and has been pretty successful at setting herself up as the face of the "downtrodden immigrant just looking for a better life." Her imprisonment would have set her up as a martyr - the Mumia Abu-Jamal of the pro-illegal movement - and it's good to see this attempt failed.

San Francisco Crime doesn't look like it's been around for too long, but it's certainly needed. Not only does it list the names and circumstances of each of San Francisco's 71 murder victims this year (so far), but also has some press releases and blurbs about the most recent major crimes. Particularly noteworthy is that this blog contains stuff about crimes not reported on the regular media outlets. Also contains a map showing locations of all homicides this year.

"I'm Just A Patsy!!!"

The word from InsideBayArea now is that 19-year old handyman/assassin Devaughndre Broussard's Lawyer - LeRue Grim (what a great name for a lawyer, si?) - has claimed that he was ordered to take the fall for the murder of Chauncey Bailey, and that Bakery kingpin Yusef Bey IV is the real shooter.

Grim said the details were told to him by Broussard during a jail house interview Sunday night.

"My client tells me that Yusuf IV came in and said, 'Everything is on the line for us and the bakery and we're in survival mode,'" Grim said of the conversation he had with Broussard. "He tells him, 'If you take this, you're young, we will get you an attorney, we will get you manslaughter, we will get you probation and a year in county jail.'"

How stupid of Broussard to actually believe he'd only get probation! This isn't San Francisco!!!

Humbled By The Growing Intellectual Revolution Manifest At Blog-Fest-West, "Summer Of Love" Organizers Throw In The Towel

On August 18th, in a room in Building C of the Fort Mason Center, the true rebel spirit of San Francisco manifested itself (AGAIN) as 40-plus bloggers, writers, and broadcasters met for the first Blog-Fest-West (clarification: the number in attendance was 40-plus, not the ages of those who attended. Oh, wait a minute...).

From Cinammon Stillwell's page... Billed as "The Right Side of the Left Coast," the event was an opportunity for those with right-leaning politics here in California to enjoy some likeminded company for a change.

I talked to people who had traveled from across town and across the country to come meet the faces behind some of the most interesting counter-cultural blogs out there. I met successful writers from all walks of life. But, more than being successful, it was lovely to be in San Francisco at a more-or-less political event and be surrounded by people who were actually smart, witty, and happy. Being an ex-leftist, it was really refreshing! Yes, the times they are a-changin'...

In a no doubt related event, the organizers of the "Summer Of Love" festival have canceled, scrapping the entire hyped-up festival, and having an informal "picnic" instead. They obviously sensed that the tide is turning, and that thousands of wilted flower children are no match for a few dozen people who can present a cogent argument! Haircuts and Jobs For All!

The writing is on the wall... and, this time, it is in complete sentences!
