All It Takes Is One Asshole...

The wrangling has already gotten stale over the tragic events at Virginia Tech. Who or what is to blame, who could have - or should have - done what when, and was what was done what should have been done or could more have been done, and if so, what?

Here's the deal... so the perp - who's name I will never say - was a "troubled loner." So fucking what? Truth be known, I was a troubled loner myself when I was that age. I didn't have any friends, and felt a deep resentment towards the "happy people." I perhaps even harbored violent fantasies directed at some of my fellow students (not to mention a few of my teachers).

But you know what? I didn't shoot any of them. Didn't even slash their tires!

We here in America take life... maybe not too seriously... but definitely too personally. We tend to think that every bad thing that happens is an affront to us on a personal level. But at some point even the troubled loner realizes that those "happy people" are not succeeding to spite him, and that it is, in fact, pretty damn arrogant to think that they are! And he makes a choice (for his own sake) to lighten up, to step back from the edge, to not view everyone as the enemy, that not everyone has to like you and that's okay.

The guy who performed the sick, cowardly act in Blacksburg, VA probably had the same choice at some point (or many points) in his life. And he chose evil. That's right... HE CHOSE EVIL.

That stupid moron was not driven to his acts by anyone or anything except himself and his own twisted sense of self-importance. He deserves absolutely no pity.

Back in the days when I was more "liberal" than I am now, I would get involved in the old head games about "violent imagery on TV and video games" and "let's look at his background before we judge." Bullshit. All bullshit.

The simple fact is that there are evil people in this world, and most of them CHOOSE to be that way. All of the excuses are just that... excuses.

If any media outlets - especially NBC - have any sense, they'll remove the pictures and rantings of this evil person. I saw the photos, and, to be honest, I almost laughed when I saw how pathetic he looked. Sick little pussy with a gun...

Here are the pictures we should be looking at... some of the people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and happened to be in the way when dickwad got back at the "people who caused him to do this."

At least, with his last bullet, he finally hit the right target.

Horror in Virginia

Today, some fucking wacko killed 33 people on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Another 15 people were also wounded. The waste-of-skin that did it showed himself to be the ultimate pussy by shooting himself before the police got to him.

CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC, Larry King, etc. etc. are all trying to figure out why before the blood dries. Experts are blaming society, the campus, the police, the perpetrator...

But you just can't reason your way out of some things.

Frankly, I would rather see 12 channels of memorial services and grief counseling, instead of everyone screaming why and "experts" jumping all over each other screaming "I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW!". We can argue about who's to blame and what we can do to prevent it later.

But right now I'm just going to think about that area of the country (I've been there before and am going back this October), think of my friends in Virginia, think of my friends who are VT alumni, and pray for the families of those who were cruelly taken.

It's a fucked-up world. Fucked-up and beautiful at the same time.

Today... mostly fucked-up.

16 People Stand Up For Civility...

...and I'm actually surprised the total was that high!

Something happened here in S.F. yesterday. Something magical. Something wonderful.

Somebody actually tried hard - REALLY hard - not to be an asshole. They obeyed the rules, had a great time, ...

Critical Manners takes a stand for sharing, harmony, red lights

A bunch of bike riders pedaled through San Francisco on Friday night, and nobody got mad at anybody.

The cyclists were polite. The motorists were respectful. The pedestrians were happy. The cops were incredulous.

And it all comes, said ride organizer Reama Dagasan, from stopping at red lights, which is not at all a bad thing to do.

"We're making a statement tonight," she said. "We believe in sharing and being nice."

Dagasan is the founder of Critical Manners, which is her response to the controversial Critical Mass ride that features hundreds of cyclists riding as a pack through San Francisco on the last Friday night of the month. At the last Critical Mass, there were several confrontations with motorists, including one that ended with someone smashing the back window of a minivan.

There was none of that for the Critical Manners ride. That's because Dagasan put her foot down. She put her foot down at Grove, McAllister, Turk, Sutter, Bush and California streets, and that was just during the first half mile. A law-abiding bike rider puts her foot down a lot.

The ride departed at 6 p.m. from Civic Center, after a brief refresher course.

"Let's review our signals!" Dagasan hollered to the group. "Right turn, arm up! Left turn, arm straight out! Now put your helmets on! And be polite!"

Sgt. Ed Callejas, one of four cops assigned to escort the chivalrous cyclists, double-checked with Dagasan about the good-manners angle. Like any good cop, he was just a bit skeptical of human nature.

"You're really going to follow all the rules?" he asked.

"Yes sir," she replied. "You've never seen a bigger bunch of nerds in your life."

There were exactly 16 cyclists on the ride, which is a lot less than the 500 or so that Critical Mass usually gets. On the other hand, Dagasan said cheerily, it's a lot more than the four riders she got last time.

The pack rode single file in the Polk Street bike lane, stopping at every light and stop sign. It made for a slow trip, and it took about 20 minutes to get to Fisherman's Wharf. On the other hand, it was faster than a Muni bus, which trailed the procession and never did catch up.

"Nothing wrong with stopping for red lights," Laura Mendoza said. "Not if you like staying alive."

Greg Rodgers said he was riding to "reduce the level of antagonism between bicycles and cars." Geoff Schneider said he was riding because he was "sick of all the yelling" during Critical Mass. And Toni Truong said she was "trying to let motorists know that not all cyclists are belligerent."

At Beach Street, everyone stuck his or her left hand skyward before turning right, to the amazement of one Yellow cabdriver who yelled "Way to go!" out his window.

After cruising through the Wharf and along the Embarcadero, the pack crossed Justin Herman Plaza -- after dismounting and walking among the pedestrians. Callejas was there, too, and he made a command decision.

"I don't think you need us," he said, and he radioed to his lieutenant that he was calling off the escort. Even after the cops went away, the cyclists kept stopping at the red lights. Market Street being Market Street, there was no shortage of red lights to stop at.

"I like red lights," said Gred Anlandtbom. "Gives you a chance to stop and talk and look around. You know, there's nothing really wrong with red lights."

I cannot tell you how nice it is to see something like this happen... even if it was a joke (which it's kind of hard to tell - I'm so jaded I don't even know anymore). I can't ride a bike 'cuz of my back surgery, but I would gladly ride with these guys!

I would go into the whole, sordid backstory behind this whole thing, but, y'know what? Screw it. Let's give some webspace to people who deserve it. Bravo Critical Manners!

Gloom & Doom for a Friday the 13th

Greetings fellow condemned,

It's just one of those days where the various little wrist-weights of the world are just piling up. Had to leave work early 'cuz of back pain, had a horrible night's sleep punctuated by awful dreams, and all of the usual annoyances that make life in the City such a soul-crushing experience. I didn't get the promotion I was looking for at work, and it looks more and more like I may be in that type of job so often called "dead-end."

Somedays I just feel all the fight go out of me, and this is one of those days.

Let's face it, people. We are doomed. The environment is fucked up, people are still breeding like rabbits, and, if you stop breeding like rabbits, they'll erase the borders and import millions of people who do. Globalization is homogenizing the world, erasing all sense of culture and geography and tradition. One great big world of producers and consumers.

The other day I saw one of those "Truth About 9/11" shows on good ol' Channel 29, and the guy was trying to convince us of the coming Bush/UN/black helicopter/zionist/alien purge, where he says '4 out of 5 people will die in the new world!' I have to admit that my initial reaction was "You say that like it's a bad thing." I can't think, honestly, of anything that would be more HEALTHY for Planet Earth than a massive die-off of human beings.

It's amazing that overpopulation is simply no longer an issue for the Left - or indeed anyone else. After Paul Ehrlich, after all of the dire warnings of the obvious unsustainability of a world of 6 billion (9 billion? 12 billion?) people, pretty much everyone has given up on the idea that fewer people is a good thing.

I was reading some message board from some University science department talking about overpopulation, and they were saying it wasn't really an issue because "science and technology will save us!" God laughs at you and so do I.

And meanwhile the immigrants keep pouring in in a steady, unprecedented, ever-increasing flood, and I'm supposed to believe that's a good thing. As the Bay Area's population moves toward 6 million (just a few years away), California lurches towards 50 million, and America stands poised to pass half a billion people within 50 years, I can't help but feeling we're headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. Already fresh water is tight (and getting tighter). And they keep coming. And coming. And coming.

But don't try to say that to anyone. The Leftists will just scream racist (as usual), and the Right will just say half-a-billion people is just halfway to being able to compete with China.

I love economists who say "don't worry about it... market forces will take care of that." In other words, what they are saying is California will become so unlivable that anyone who can afford to leave will.

By the way... is the rest of the world such a fucking hell hole that every mother-fucking person on Earth has to move to California???

And when it happens, I won't say I told you so. I won't be here. I love California, I am a native Californian. But I don't love it enough to commit suicide over it. So if people have decided that the smart thing to do is give Alta California back to the Mexicans - then fine. Whatever. Normally I'd fight you on it. But not today.

Other folks have noticed Hendricks, too

No sooner had I finished the previous post, I found this one commenting on the same article...

Lone Wacko

This post contains some things that I left out. And I thought I was being thorough!

Tyche Hendricks - propagandist - is at it again!

Another sly piece of pro-illegal alien propaganda made it's way into SFGate again today, and, as usual, the author was none other than pro-illegal alien propagandist extraordinaire Tyche Hendricks.

Hendricks, who asserts rather incredibly that 4 out of 5 Californians favor legalizing illegals, plays fast and loose with the facts. He cited a Field Poll on immigration as his source for his conclusions, so I thought it might be fun to get a copy of the report and see if what the report says and what Hendricks SAYS it says match up. And, as you will see, they kinda don't...

Hendricks asserts...

Support among California voters for legalizing undocumented immigrants rose to 83 percent from 75 percent last April, while 67 percent of respondents backed a guest worker plan, up from 60 percent a year ago.

But Hendricks, as usual, leaves a couple things out. While his numbers are accurate, his conclusions as to what they constitute are not. One might get the idea that the Field Poll question was "Do you favor legalization for illegal immigrants?"

But, what the Field Poll ACTUALLY says is this (emphasis mine)...

(Should we) Create a program that would allow illegal immigrants who have been living in the U.S. for a number of years an OPPORTUNITY to stay in this country and apply for citizenship IF THEY HAVE A JOB, LEARNED ENGLISH, AND PAID BACK TAXES?

To take that statement and word it to make it sound like a blanket amnesty is dishonest, and, unfortunately, typical of Hendrick's style.

Another example...

Support among California voters for legalizing undocumented immigrants rose to 83 percent from 75 percent last April, while 67 percent of respondents backed a guest worker plan, up from 60 percent a year ago.

Again, there are some important qualifiers (in regards to the GWP) that Hendricks has conveniently left out.

The question posed by the Field Poll was not, as Hendricks suggests, do you support a GWP, but was, in fact (again, with my emphasis)...

(Should we) Create TEMPORARY worker programs for illegal immigrants that would LEGALIZE THEIR STATUS (presumably, as temporary workers) and allow future immigrants to work in this country?

Here's more...

California voters increasingly oppose a federal plan for 700 more miles of border fence -- with just 37 percent favoring it this year, down from 47 percent last April, the Field Poll found. And just 53 percent of those polled voiced support the current policy of federal agents rounding up, detaining and deporting illegal immigrants.

JUST 53%? That sounds like a majority to me, and, again, there's a hidden bias here. Hendricks speaks gushingly when the numbers back his opinion (67% support for creating temporary GWP) and dismissively when they don't (as in "JUST 53%")

and still more...

By wide margins, the state's voters also favor creating a temporary worker program to allow future immigrants to enter legally, increasing the border patrol and imposing stiff penalties on employers who hire unauthorized immigrants, the Field Poll found.

While Hendricks is quick to offer numbers when they support his position, he conveniently leaves them out when they don't. Case in point... border security. The numbers that Hendricks chooses not to divulge is that 71% of Californians favor increasing the number of federal agents along the US-Mexico border, and that number has remained UNCHANGED from the previously cited poll - even as Hendricks concludes that support for legalization has gone up.

But wait, there's more...

Kelley said she was not surprised by the Field Poll's finding that California voters endorse a combination of tougher enforcement, a legal foreign worker plan and a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants already here.

Tyche once again leaves out the parts he doesn't want to emphasize, like the facts that this legalization has the qualifiers of having a job, learning English and paying back taxes, and that "tougher enforcement" includes a strong, unwavering desire for more border agents, and a firm majority who would seek to impose stiff penalties on employers and individuals who hire illegal immigrants.

Shortage of 911 operators becoming critical for S.F.

San Francisco is facing a critical shortage of 911 operators.

While the city is budgeted for 187 operators, only 155 are filled - and 29% of those operators are on long term disability. While that sounds like a lot (and it is) its not really surprising given the stresses of the job.

Over half of all 911 calls are not genuine emergencies, and cell phones have only made matters worse...

The high volume of 911 calls — which has increased in part due to the proliferation of cell phones — also adds to the stress of the job (says Bob Smith from the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials).

“Ten years ago, if you have a wreck on the interstate you may get only one phone call,” he said. “Now, everyone driving by calls to report the accident.”

San Francisco has become the latest City to introduce a 311 number, which is what you should call in a non-emergency situation.

And BTW, if you're looking for a job...

San Francisco pays approximately $54,314 to $66,014 for 911 call takers, according to a newspaper advertisement for the job. Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or to have passed the general equivalency test, and have had one year of paid work in a public contact position in addition to an ability to type 40 words per minute.

Illegal Alien Piece of Shit Caught in South San Fran

Here's yet another piece-of-shit illegal alien criminal "doing the crimes Americans won't do..."

South San Francisco, Calif. (Map, News) - A man who allegedly caused $250,000 in damage keying and burglarizing cars in South San Francisco and San Bruno was arrested Monday near downtown South City.

After 20 cars were keyed Monday, Carlos Canales, 28, an illegal immigrant and transient in South San Francisco, was arrested on the 400 block of Baden Avenue in South City at approximately 3 p.m. when a witness reported someone peeping into cars.

Canales, who has multiple prior arrests for drug possession, was arrested for felony attempted burglary and giving false information to a police officer, a misdemeanor offense. He also had two felony warrants out for methamphetamine possession and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

No bail was set because the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on his case; when his cases are finished he will be deported, according to authorities.

Since January, there have been 170 car vandalisms — ranging from key scratches to smashed windows and burglary — in South San Francisco and 45 incidences in San Bruno, according to police.

Video surveillance in areas where cars were damaged shows Canales in the vicinity. He did identify himself in the photos but said he did not damage the cars, South San Francisco police Sgt. Joni Lee said.

Lee said, however, she was unsure if Canales could be directly connected to the vandalisms due to the lack of evidence. The investigation is ongoing, but none of the vandalism cases have been referred to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office, Lee said.

“Circumstantially, we believe it’s him,” Lee said. And there were no reports of car vandalisms Tuesday, she noted.

“We’re pretty confident this is the same individual that’s inflicted the damage,” Chief Mark Raffaelli said. The acts of vandalism do not appear motivated by any kind of gang or group affiliation, Raffaelli said

The attacks occurred all over the cities but the occurrences were usually in bunches located close to each other and involved similar actions, like keying or breaking windows with a rock, he said.

Josue Zepeda’s car was keyed down to the metal on his driver’s side door and front left quarter panel as the car sat in his driveway in San Bruno, the 23-year-old auto body technician said.

“Whoever that is, he takes his time and doesn’t care,” said Zepeda, who was contacted before news of the arrest broke. Zepeda said the intensity of the act — scratching a car down to the metal — indicated to him that there was some hate involved.

When will you stupid Liberal assholes get a fucking clue? A vast majority of the "downtrodden masses" that you are so willing to commit suicide over are confirmed criminals. You don't really believe that importing millions of criminals into the US is a good thing, do you?

DO YOU?!?

Welcome to the Pro-Illegal Alien Propaganda Machine

In the coming weeks, or days if I'm feeling frisky, I will be introducing you to the folks who are destroying America.

These are the "journalists" of the pro-illegal alien propaganda machine.

If you read the constant flood of stories in newspapers - mostly supplied by AP and Rueters - about the "hardships of facing undocumented immigrant families" and the "outrage and injustice of the exploited humble workers-without-papers" and all that bullshit, you start to notice something.

You start to notice that these "stories" are written, time and time again, by a small group of the same people, using the same sources, and coming to the same pre-arrived-at conclusions. You see their names in the bylines again and again and again.

Do a little research (a Google search will do) and you will find out that most of these "journalists" focus SOLELY on immigration, always give contact info about pro-illegal groups (and rarely for anti-illegal groups), usually refer to anti-illegal opinions in an overtly dismissive or even insulting manner, and, quite often, are hardly disinterested observers; many of them actually are PRO-ILLEGAL ALIEN ACTIVISTS!

Now, I have no problem with a newspaper voicing its opinion. But I have a BIG problem with a newspaper passing off its thinly veiled agenda as "news."

Here's a brief introduction to some of them, with more to come...

Tyche Hendricks - a Pacifica Radio alumni and an old-school Berkeley Socialist, Hendricks regularly - almost exclusively, in fact - writes about illegal immigration, with a very obvious and very heavy pro-illegal slant. I'll focus on him first, because I am not the first person to have noticed the works of this propagandist.

Here's a few others you'll no doubt notice at the top of the column of your next pro-illegal slanted "news" story...

Carolyn Lockhead (Chronicle Washington Bureau)
Peter Prengaman (AP)
Juliana Barbassa (AP)

and some not so vehemently pro-illegal, but slanted nonetheless...

Carla Marinucci (Chronicle)
Niki Smith (Chronicle)

and, of course, America's premier pro-illegal columnist...

Ruben Navarrette, Jr.

Illegal Aliens Kill Christmas

In a sad scene repeated every day in this country, American Citizens are once again the victim of drunk-driving illegal aliens. The only difference this time is that the victims were well known.

(04-05) 23:21 PDT Los Angeles (AP) --

Federal authorities have placed an immigration hold on a 24-year-old Mexican national arrested on suspicion of driving drunk and causing the crash that killed "A Christmas Story" director Bob Clark and his son, officials said Thursday.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement put the hold Wednesday on Hector Velazquez-Nava, an illegal immigrant living in Los Angeles, said agency spokeswoman Virginia Kice.

The action means Velazquez-Nava will be turned over to federal immigration officials and placed in deportation proceedings once his local case is completed. He was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol and gross vehicular manslaughter, and was being held on $100,000 bail in a county jail.

If he were to post bail, Velazquez-Nava would be taken into federal custody on the immigration hold, Kice said.

Police allege Velazquez-Nava steered his sport utility vehicle into the wrong lane of Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades early Wednesday, striking Clark's sedan head-on. The filmmaker and his son, Ariel Hanrath-Clark, 22, died at the scene.

Velazquez-Nava had a blood-alcohol level of 0.24 percent, three times the 0.08 legal limit for driving, the Los Angeles Times reported on its Web site Thursday evening. A police spokesman said he could not immediately confirm the report.

Authorities have said Velazquez-Nava was driving without a license. He and his passenger, Lidia Mora, 29, of Azusa, were treated for minor injuries after the crash.

Velazquez-Nava had no prior deportations but was convicted in March 2005 of soliciting a prostitute in South Los Angeles, court records show. He received 24 months probation and a $1,500 fine after pleading no contest. At the time, he also was accused of not having a valid license.

It was unclear whether Velazquez-Nava had retained an attorney. There was no phone listing under his name.

Clark had a prolific movie and TV directing career. He specialized in horror movies and thrillers early on, directing such 1970s movies as "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things,""Murder by Decree,""Breaking Point" and "Black Christmas," which was remade last year.

His breakout success came with 1981's sex farce "Porky's," a coming-of-age romp that he followed two years later with "Porky's II: The Next Day."

In 1983, he directed, co-produced and co-wrote "A Christmas Story," an adaptation of Jean Shepherd's childhood memoir of a boy in the 1940s.

The film starred Peter Billingsly as Ralphie Parker, a young boy determined to get a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas.

While a modest theatrical success, the movie was a critical darling and eventually joined "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street" as one of the Christmas films audiences watch year after year.

Welcome to San Francisco - Watch Out for Flying Bullets!

A quick little post here from Batshit City (courtesy of SF Examiner)....

SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - An exchange of words between people in two cars on Market Street rapidly escalated into gun violence during Thursday’s lunch hour, causing panic and sending passers-by running for cover.

The violence started when a white Pontiac containing three black males heading west on Market Street near Eighth Street passed a dark-colored eastbound car containing two black males, police spokesman Sgt. Neville Gittens said. As the cars passed, words were exchanged and both cars stopped.

A man jumped out of the Pontiac and started firing at the dark car, which sped off, Gittens said.

“I saw one guy just running down the middle of the street, shooting with a gun,” said Anna Zatsephina, who works at Gold Diggers used clothing store. She said the man fired over his shoulder as he ran west.

Edgar Mallori, who works at the Subway sandwich shop a few doors down, said he heard three shots and saw people running on the crowded sidewalk.

The shooter jumped onto the hood of the Pontiac from which he had exited, Gittens said, and the car took off northbound on Larkin Street. “At some point, he fell off,” Gittens said.

He was last seen running west on Grove Street while the Pontiac continued up Larkin Street.

Police have not stated whether they believe the incident was gang-related (note: Wow... ya think?!?), caused by road rage or some other conflict. No passers-by were hurt, and Gittens said police do not know if any of the cars’ occupants were injured.

Police shut down the 1200 block of Market Street briefly to collect evidence following the shooting. As of press time, they had made no arrests (note: As usual).

The oft-maligned mid-Market area, long a target of those in favor of urban renewal, is home to thousands of people in apartment buildings and residential hotels, as well as small and large businesses, including restaurants, travel agencies, banks and the Orpheum Theater. The huge Trinity Plaza and Fox Plaza apartment buildings flank the block where the shooting erupted Thursday (note: in other words, this area is a total freaking slum).

The shooting is the second incident of daylight mayhem to shock a city neighborhood this year. On Jan. 11, a car chase through The City’s northwestern neighborhoods ended in a head-on collision and shooting in Russian Hill. In that case, a person in a sport utility vehicle shot into a Honda Civic after the Honda crashed into an oncoming Acura after it turned west on Broadway from southbound Polk Street.

The parties in the January incident knew each other, police said at the time, confirming the attack was not random or road rage. The details surrounding Wednesday’s shooting are unclear, Gittens said.
